Jan. - March:  The Leary Fire Fighters Foundation

 

"The Leary Firefighters Foundation was founded in 2000 by actor Denis Leary in response to a fire that broke out in an abandoned warehouse in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts, his hometown, in December of 1999.  The Leary Firefighters Foundation is dedicated to providing fire departments with funding and resources for up-to-date equipment and training."

 

April - June:  USO (United Services Organization)

 

"Since before the U.S. entered World War II, the USO has been a bridge between the American public and the US military.  In peace time and in war, the USO has consistently delivered its special brand of comfort, morale and recreational services to the military.  A private non profit organization, the USO relies on the donations of individuals and corporations to support USO activities.  Military personnel and family members visited USO centers more than 5.3 million times last year.  Some services include free internet and email access, libraries and reading rooms, housing assistance, family crisis counseling, support groups, game rooms and nursery facilities."

 

July - September:  American Cancer Society - Fighting Breast Cancer

 

"Making strides against Breast Cancer is working to reduce breast cancer risk, find better treatments, honor loved ones and fund more research.  The American Cancer Society helps family members cope with Breast Cancer through networks and programs designed to provide as much information regarding treatments and options.  They also strive to find breast cancer early so that treatment can be successful."

 

October - December:  St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
